Because we
understand that effective communication between parent and school is important
to the academic and emotional development of a child, The Cathedral School
seeks collaborative relationships with parents. The small size of our community
ensures that informal contacts among parents and school personnel will be
frequent and substantive, building the trust essential to productive dialogue.
Parents
contribute to The Cathedral School in a variety of ways. Fathers and mothers
often join students and teachers on class trips, and we welcome parent visits
to our early childhood classrooms to read a book or assist with a cooking
project. Parents with special talents or interests are always welcome to share
their passion and expertise with our students.
The Cathedral
School Parents’ Association has been active, energetic, and creative in its
enrichment of school life. Sponsoring community fund raising events such as
Glendi Night this spring, and concerts that feature our student chorus, the
Parents’ Association’s efforts help the school support special projects, as
well as make possible the sheer fun of annual events such as our Halloween
party.
