Admissions Procedures 1st through 8th Grade

Welcome.  Thank you for your interest in The Cathedral School Day School.  We look forward to getting to know your family during the admissions process.  Ours is a community that celebrates excellence in education and we are excited to share with you what makes The Cathedral School so special.

Grades 1 through 8

Step 1: Visit Us

The Cathedral School accepts applications on a rolling basis. Open Houses begin at the end of September and we encourage you to visit us.  For inquiries and tours, please contact our Admissions Office at [email protected].  

Step 2: Apply

We invite you to fill out our Application Form and submit the $50 processing fee as soon as possible in the fall.  Once an application is received, our Admissions Director will contact you to set up a student and parent visit. Student visits begin in October and consist of time spent in our classrooms.  Applicants are required to submit their most current report card as well as the report card for the last full academic year. We also require a letter of recommendation from a teacher. Forms will be provided by our Admissions Director upon submission of application. Report cards and teacher recommendations can be submitted to our Admissions Director either through postal mail with attention to Admissions Office, or via email at: [email protected]

Step 3: Admissions Testing

All applicants must submit the results of testing by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) or submit comparable test results from the student’s current school. ERB examinations are administered by the ERB office or at various school locations in New York City (https://www.erblearn.org/parents). (Admissions Examinations are AABL for 1st Grade, ISEE for 2nd through 8th grade). List The Cathedral School of the Holy Trinity in the list of score recipients.

Step 4: Admissions Decisions

Admissions Decisions will be made once visits are completed and testing and recommendations are submitted. Admissions decisions will be notified via email as well as postal mail.

Optional Step 5: Complete Financial Aid Information

The Cathedral School requires families to submit financial aid requests through FACTS Management System.  Financial Aid applications are available beginning October 1st. To apply, visit www.FACTSmgt.com and create an account.  Please note, there is a processing fee paid to FACTS for this service. We require all financial applications for our Day School Program to be completed by February 1st, 2023.

*Any applications received after the deadline will be considered on a rolling basis if space remains in the grade.
