The Cathedral School practices a rolling enrollment policy. Applications are processed throughout the entire year. We strongly encourage you to begin the application process as early as possible in the fall.

The Cathedral school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national land ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.
Nursery to Kindergarten
Application Process
The Application Process begins with submitting a completed application and an application fee ($50) to the Admissions Office. The application may be submitted online.
Once the application is received, our Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a tour and an interview.
At this time, we invite the parents and child(ren) to the school to meet with our Admissions Team. Your child will be interviewed and asked to spend time in his/her current year classroom.
Proof of Age
The Cathedral School Preschool requires proof of age for all potential students. Our age requirements are as follows:
- Nursery: Proof of age of 2.9 by August 31st (fully toilet trained)
- Pre Kindergarten: Proof of age of 3.9 by August 31st
School Records and Recommendations
If your child has attended a school prior to applying to The Cathedral School Preschool, please have an official transcript sent to the admissions office as well as a letter of recommendation from the current teacher.
After the interview process has been completed, time has been spent in the classroom and additional items have been submitted, admissions decisions will be mailed to families.

Grades 1 to 8

Admission Testing
All applicants must submit the results of testing by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) or submit comparable test results from the students’ current schools. ERB examinations are administered by the ERB office or at various school locations in New York City (https://www.erblearn.org/parents).
