A Message From the Head of School
Ms. Meropi Kyriacou
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Our administration, staff, school board, and community are committed to providing students with a world-class education, which will serve as a foundation for their future success. Our students are motivated to learn in a safe, and supportive environment created by our accomplished teachers and devoted staff.
An effective school is not stationary, or unchanging, reflecting the efforts of a few. It is a dynamic institution that is embedded in tradition and is constantly seeking progress and innovation. It is a place that builds a mutual capacity for leadership and knowledge that draws on the talents of all while remaining open to the needs of the community that supports them.
I have found this to be very true at The Cathedral School and it is what makes our school a place where children want to come and learn. One of the hallmarks of our school is the passion that is evident every day. That passion drives creativity, and that allows our students to have exceptional academic experiences.
The process of choosing a school for your child is a challenging and difficult one. As you begin this process of selectivity, I hope you will consider The Cathedral School.
On a visit to our school, you will surely notice many special things - the heartfelt and friendly atmosphere, our extraordinary students, our committed staff, our supportive parents, and the meaningful, hands-on learning taking place. We are very proud of our accomplishments and look forward to many more!
Our success is made possible by supportive parents with high expectations for their children; a community willing to support our school; highly qualified teachers who continue to improve their skills; a support staff who care about children; administrators who hire and support the development of quality teachers; and a School Board that has set high-performance standards for the school system and supports the efforts of the staff and administrators.
For those of you who would like to learn more about The Cathedral School, I encourage you to use this website to view the many wonderful aspects of what our school has to offer. You will find us at the leading edge of programs, resources, and technology designed to accommodate the diversity of learners that enter our door.

“Making a Positive Difference”
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a figure in the distance. As he got closer, he realized the figure was that of a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”
The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll all die.”
“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t possibly make a difference!”
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said
“I made a difference for that one.”
